STAR Network Technology
The new rules for better résumés start with the fact that there are fewer rules. There’s an opportunity for some creativity but not for gimmicks. What works today is a conservative style and a focus on key achievements - especially those that are particular interest to the reader. Remember, what interest an employer for let’s say a network engineer position, may not interest an employer hiring a systems analyst. That’s why it is essential that people who qualify for several different jobs (and many do) have several different résumés. Obtaining a better job today has become much more competitive then in the ‘90s, especially in the current job market. This trend will continue into the next century, as better positions will require much more specialized skills. Since the résumé is a primary tool in obtaining a more attractive position, extra time spent on its preparation is a good investment. Astute information technology professionals constantly update their résumés. We believe the best way to explain the new "rules" of résumé writing is to explain what you should always do and also what you should never do. We wish you success.
